Privacy Policy

Your trust matters to us. This page explains what information The Labour's Adda collects, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

Last updated: 21 October 2026
In short: We collect only what we need to connect you with skilled professionals, labs and sellers. We never sell your personal data. You can ask us to correct or delete your information at any time.

1. Introduction

The Labour's Adda ("we", "us", "our") runs a platform — through our website and mobile app — that helps you discover and book everyday services such as electricians, plumbers, carpenters, painters, AC repair, cleaning, contractors, laboratory tests, and shop for goods from the marketplace.

This Privacy Policy applies to everyone who visits our website, uses our app, or books through us — whether you are a customer, a service professional, or a visitor. By using The Labour's Adda you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

We handle your personal data in line with applicable Indian law, including the Information Technology Act, 2000, the rules made under it, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Account details: name, mobile number, email address, and the one-time password (OTP) used to verify you.
  • Booking details: the service or product you choose, service address, preferred date and time, and notes you add.
  • Professional onboarding: if you join as a service professional — your skills, work experience, profile photo, address, and identity or verification documents needed to check your background.
  • Reviews and messages: ratings, feedback, and messages you send to us or to a professional through the platform.
  • Support requests: information you share when you contact our Help team.

Information collected automatically

  • Device and usage data: device model, operating system, app version, IP address, language, pages and screens viewed, and crash logs.
  • Location data: city or precise location, if you allow it (see section 5).

Payment information

Payments are handled by third-party payment partners. We do not store your full card number, CVV, UPI PIN or net-banking password. We may receive limited details such as the payment status, transaction ID and the last four digits of a card.

3. How we use your information

  • To create and secure your account and verify you with an OTP.
  • To match you with suitable professionals, labs and sellers, and to confirm, track and complete your bookings and orders.
  • To process payments, refunds and invoices.
  • To send booking updates, reminders, and service-related messages by SMS, call, WhatsApp, email or app notification.
  • To verify service professionals and keep the platform safe from fraud and misuse.
  • To provide customer support and resolve disputes.
  • To improve our services, fix problems, and understand how the platform is used.
  • To send offers and promotions, only where you have agreed. You can opt out at any time.
  • To meet legal obligations and respond to lawful requests from authorities.

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only as described below:

  • Service professionals: once you book, the assigned professional receives your name, contact number, service address and booking details so they can reach you and do the job.
  • Partner labs and sellers: when you book a lab test or order goods, the relevant partner receives the details needed to fulfil it.
  • Service providers: companies that help us run the platform — such as payment gateways, SMS/OTP providers, cloud hosting, image storage, analytics and customer-support tools. They may use your data only to perform services for us.
  • Legal and safety reasons: courts, government bodies or law-enforcement agencies when required by law, or to protect the rights, safety and property of our users and of The Labour's Adda.
  • Business changes: if The Labour's Adda is merged, acquired or restructured, your data may be transferred to the new owner, who must honour this policy.

5. Location information

We use your location to show services available in your city, to help professionals find your address, and to improve search results. Precise location is collected only after you give permission on your device. You can turn it off any time in your phone settings; you can then enter your address manually.

6. Lab test & health data

When you book a laboratory test, we may collect details such as the test name, patient name, age, gender and address for sample collection. This is sensitive information. We use it only to complete your booking and share it only with the partner lab handling your test. Test reports are generated by the lab; The Labour's Adda does not give medical advice or interpret results.

7. Cookies & similar tools

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your city and preferences, measure traffic, and improve performance. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but some parts of the site may not work properly without them.

8. How long we keep data

We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide services, resolve disputes, prevent fraud and meet legal, tax and accounting requirements. When data is no longer needed, we delete it or make it anonymous.

9. Data security

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards — including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls and secure storage — to protect your information. No online system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please keep your OTP and device safe and never share your OTP with anyone, including people claiming to be from The Labour's Adda.

10. Your rights & choices

Subject to applicable law, you can:

  • Ask for a summary of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Ask us to delete your account and personal data (some records may be kept where the law requires).
  • Withdraw your consent for marketing messages or location access at any time.
  • Nominate another person to exercise your rights in case of your death or incapacity.
  • Raise a complaint with us, and if unresolved, with the Data Protection Board of India.

To use any of these rights, write to us using the details in section 14. We may need to verify your identity first.

11. Children's privacy

The Labour's Adda is meant for people aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has given us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

12. Third-party links

Our platform may link to websites or services run by others, including partner labs, sellers and social media pages. We are not responsible for their privacy practices. Please read their policies before sharing information.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make important changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you through the app or by message. Continuing to use The Labour's Adda after changes means you accept the updated policy.

14. Contact & grievances

For questions about this policy, to exercise your rights, or to raise a privacy complaint, contact our Grievance Officer. We acknowledge complaints within 24 hours and aim to resolve them within 15 days.
